The Entry is Infinitely Excellent-August 1st, 2005-1:40

Mood:

It's always nice to lean about the window while watching "MI:5"...and
it's also raining. Ha, it was raining for 10 minutes, then it suddenly stopped.
I had a huge train of thought brewing and I erased it by going on to someone's
profile. Not like that profile will ever be active again. Frankly it's the
best. Hey, it's raining again. Hard as hell....like I said(before) this is
going to be a good August 1st. I'm the only one in the house chomping at the
bit to get back to class. Mom and Pyro have been off since July. I've been off
since the end of April. Needless to say, having that much "free-time"
isn't healthy for me. That's obvious if you back track the entries for the past
5 months. I think I need to stop making fun of my blog entries. They're not
suppose to be works of literature, they're just the ranting, ravings and
thoughts of an average guy. At least I think I'm average....sometimes I can't
see how odd I am...looking inside out I suppose. In comparison to others, I'm
quite average. Nothing spectacular in anyway. That's the way I like it. I stay
out of sight and off the screen. Blending in is my way of life. It really
shouldn't be anymore, it was a high school thing, like so many others. I should
get a tattoo, shave my head and dye a beard I'll grow blue. I'll pierce
anything that can get pierce. Then again, if you start doing all that, you're
just like all the other people trying to stand out and be unique. Figure that
one out. I sure can't...

Seeing the guys last night was weird. It was like nothing had changed since
high school, like the conversation never really stopped. We dropped right back
in like a year hadn't passed. Ironically, I like that. The people I deal with
not really changing. Whoa shit, bomb in the laptop...sorry, distracted by
scenes from next MI:5. We all like having these new channels. I'm knee deep in
Space(Sci Fi shows up to high hell), Mom's into home and garden TV(a million
design shows), Pyro gets Sportsnet and various Rugby
games, Dad watches boat shows on all the channels. Wow, I wish it would make up
it's mind. Rain or not rain or pour...

Fwah, I didn't know this would be more pointless than the last one...I'm going
to go hang out the window again...

"Progession"-August 2nd, 2005-2:00

I just want to see how fast I can type and here seems like a
pretty cool place to do so. I feel at home on the 20six html script page. Not
like I whip it into design view and type all those brackets and what not
involved in Html code. I have class Wednesday, but tomorrow shall be spend
finishing the final VB lab and actually studying for the final quiz(before the
exam which I have no idea when it is.) I'm going to have to check on that as
soon as possible to avoid and conflicts (with what? Oh, that, right)....

Did I mention my new story was creep and actually going nowhere? Sure, I have a
bunch of really cool scenes but I'm not telling a story. This time I'm actually
going to have something that had a beginning/middle/end. I'm surprised as
passed Creative Writing without having that ability. Apparently a collection of
cool scenes works(Unless they have something to do with sushi, then it's just
pointless) The new story is also on a timeline, the entire month of
November(starting at Halloween) Like a reverse Donny Darko if you will(not
really, it just starts on Halloween while Darko technically ends on Halloween)

Due to the Civic Holiday in Canada(It's called a Civic holiday everywhere else
as you can't call it BC Day in Alberta now can you?) The Space Channel had a
Seaquest DSV Viewer's Choice Marathon. I managed to watch them all(with the
repeat). My dad actually sat and watched most of them. I had to keep telling I
didn't know all the characters that well as I was 7 when the show first aired.
The one thing I hate about a Viewer's Choice thing(See SG1 as well) is they're
not in chronological order. So don't even try to make sense of it all. Alright,
I admit I know when it's a season 2 SG1 vs when it's a season 4(They traded in
the MP5 for the P90), but when suddenly have new characters that weren't
explained in the "last" episode...things are wrong. Don't get me
started on that talking Dolphin. For some reason the only two things I
remembered about the show going in was the Dolphin and one of the crew members
having gills(but it wasn't the right crew member, I thought it was the bald
striped guy, turns out he's just a prototype?) (sigh)

I'm craving one of those new Green Tea Fraps. Yeah, I know I've only had one
before, but they are quite good. I'm not like my mum who will get a mocha one
daily(I'll get her a mocha one daily (sigh-AGAIN!)).  Too many brackets. I
like the square ones though, very useful in English and Law citation. Like when
you change something or need to follow Chicago
style(BOOO!)...The Devil if There Ever Was Such a Thing, tis would be Crompton.
Kidding...any prof that gave me a B when she claimed she didn't give A's(Graeme
got an A on his paper...of course he cited her and Haber. I never got that)

This wasn't even suppose to be an entry. I started typing and it came
out...like a fart...a Blog Fart? I'm going to have to use that one somewhere
else.

Since this entry isn't going on "The Mirror", I can say a couple
things. The whole deal with Jenny, I haven't been thinking of it lately. I've just
been bleeding off the so called "Jennyisms?" through writing. I don't
know what to make of her anymore. Again, it just hasn't been on my mind. Which
is good. It's a very good thing...have you noticed how many songs have women's
names in them? I always liked those...Allman Bros' Melissa, BNL's Jane, the
rare and stupid Grover Dill's Kirsten(it was a phase), Howie Day's Christina
Says, Tommy Tutone's 867-5309(duh)...One band did a song on Natalie Portman.
Sadly, I didn't find it good. Did you know she's probably going to keep her
head shaved? That's kind of cool. Natalie Portman keeps getting cooler. Brilliant
Actress(minus all those bloody awful Star Wars prequels), Harvard Psych
Student(Be still my beating heart!) and just a down to earth person. Too bad she
doesn't take many very good pics...have you seen some the wallpapers floating
around? Eww...way too much make up and they make her look 12...in the pics that
aren't around the Leon
era (at least I think so...I hope so...) Oh, Lost in Space was on Space to
break up the repeats of the Seaquest Marathon. Ha, I used to love that movie.
Now? Not so much....Gary Oldman was called a monster in that movie...like he
has in so many others....while he's terrifying children...he's so good at it
too. It's...well...creepy...except in Batman Begins of course...

Ok, way too random...I got to punch out and get some rack time...before I get
so random I implode (you heard what I said)...and yes, I can type pretty darn
fast…

"Served Hot and Fresh"-August 3rd, 2005-8:03

Mood: ---

If Death Cab Cutie is now on a major label, are they no longer Indie?

Don't ask me why, I've been up since 6. Something I'm going to do way more of
come the Fall. Hey, that's my fault for "poor" course planning. I
wouldn't say poor, I got most of the courses I wanted with good profs. You
couldn't ask for better than that. Well...yeah, Breakfast Classes are alright,
but not welcome...

I went running yesterday. The one thing I hate is when people I know in passing
automobile traffic try to get your attention. Some blonde yelled my name for
sometime until I finally noticed and turned around. No idea who she was...I
have narrowed down a list of suspects. Here's a message to them...I can't hear
you when I'm running....it doesn't work that way. Some guy asked me for the
time...I don't know why I came to a dead stop and told him...

Is "Alright" even a word?

(Sigh) I can tell it's going to be one of those random days. This is the second
to last comp sci class. Good thing and a Bad thing...Final VB Lab is in
today...meaning no more of lbloutput and btngo! Bad news is we have one of
those cock eyed Kenward quizzes that are bloody hard...Lichimo gave easy tests…that
was the only good thing she had going for her. You just couldn't do well on
them because her lectures were awful. I guess in the end it balances out.
Hmmm,. I should pick up my books sometime soon. OH, You have to hear how stupid
this story is. Remember I said I needed a proof of registration to get a bursary?
The Registrar said I could get one after I registered. That makes sense...but
when I go to get one as I pay my fees...they tell me I can't get one until I
start classes in the fall. Just to make sure I don't  waste 1200 dollars
and drop all my courses...This is why I hate bureaucracy. Don't ask me why I
want to join the CF/Police force...it's just full of that. I hope I can be the
one officer to avoid it...and live...

I surprised my dad isn't hoping up and down in joy, the dock strike is technically
over. Meaning he can get his big bad ass TV. We're getting a Toshiba, but right
now we have an old Toshiba filling in...one that's probably older than I am.
Someone came in and commented on our "New Toshiba"...(sigh) I was
going to take a picture of it and make some crack ass comment about it in the
photoblog. Then I thought it would be a waste of my time and yours. Mostly
yours...

I think I had a lucid dream last night, the type you can
"control"...it was pretty good...sword play...mmmm

I'll be heading off to the gym soon enough. I have to time it so I can get
there early enough so the gym isn't crowded...but not so early that I can work
out for 2 hours and then have 4 to blow before class...(sigh) It like I spend
my life waiting to go to class or waiting to get out of class...

I'm on a wee bit of a streak this week(ha that...nevermind)...Last August I
wrote about 5 entries in total...trying to up that number this year. That
August rocked by the way, even if I didn't document it as well as it should
have been. Well, yeah I did...all in retrospect when I got back...meh

I got a strange instant message last night, I didn't recognized the address at
first and the first line was "Yo Dog"...this person wasn't added to
my list...I waited it out a bit and the person got mad that I wasn't answering.
I thought it was Miller, which is why I heisted and gave some bad ass answers.
I added the address and brought up the profile...Ha, it was someone I used to
talk to a long time ago...so it was nice of her to randomly chat me up...Ever
get a feeling everyone you know on the internet is one person? Seriously, I'm
freaked out by commented that don't leave a 20six site or something remotely
similar...it could be a couple very determined stalkers...ewww, You'd think
they'd get off my back...well...no, it's still "they" plural...many
have been downgraded from Stalker to just average person status...back to that
"one person" thing...I don't trust people...even the people I
"trust"...(coughparanoidcough)so sometimes I think Saint is screwing
with my head by hijacking someone's email account (Jenny's maybe?) and doing
stupid things. Though, I don't think even Saint could keep up that much sustained
Whedonverse chatter...on my desktop right now I have the new BDT and the
IBDT...I even went and changed the file names to match...I've been tempted to
call this the BDB, Big Damn Blog...then that would just be stupid. I would have
to make everything Brown...I once said I don't like Brown...yeah, I've changed
my mind on that one. I might even consider a Brown Coat! Gasp!

Wow, have they been getting more and more random lately? I guess that's how my
summer break is going to end: “More Random Than I Have Ever Been Before”...

I can't think of a title tonight...August 5th, 2005-1:10

Mood: ---

I can't get up at 4, it just doesn't work...I have to be up at 1 and
just run through until 4, but I made it...first one there. I don't talk
shop, it was a new experience for me.

Random Conditioning...

My arms have never hurt so much...and I weight train...I'll decided
whether or not I'll be fine to hit the gym in the morning. I'll make
that call when it comes.

Plans for the weekend? Meh...Shawn asked me to tag along to a club
party he found out about. Apparently he didn't get that I couldn't go
as I wasn't 19. If they serve booze, I can't get in...yet...3 Days. I
don't have any plans for that either as my birthday falls on a
monday...at least I'll be old enough to enjoy myself when it falls on a
saturday...Saint knows my birthday is approaching...I don't know if
we'll do anything...

Real coffee hurts, when you add a wee bit of cream and vanilla extract,
it's alright...Starbucks doesn't open until 7 usually. I still haven't
gotten that green tea frap I promised myself...(sigh)...

"On Call"-August 6th, 2005-23:05

Mood: Sickly

I blame all the protein I had today...now that's a long and pointless story. I wonder if honey garlic chicken has more than 30g of protein.

My dad woke me up around 10 saying I had a call from work, someone had called in sick and they needed a flow guy to cover. I was more than happy to oblige. I'm keeping my phone on audible ringer as of now because they had phoned my cell twice before they reached home. I'm glad dad said I was "out"...not sleeping. I'm glad to know I got three shifts next week...all 6am ones...(Sigh)

Shop talk over...

I'm watching the 5th Element...Luc Besson's version of the future(like Firefly is Joss Whedon's) I do like this movie, not the best Besson movie(Leon) but it's a good watch. Also, I'm trying to carry on a conversation with Jenny. I would hardly call it a conversation, it's the most pointless one I think we've ever had. That's saying alot.

Back up a bit, Saint came over last night and hung out. You have to remember that Saint didn't have much of a childhood, so she's making up for it now. She looked through the many boxes of toys we all had boxed up for the previous garage sales. After it was all said and done she took home at lot of them. Saint is a classic study in poor parenting....we're making up for it now.

Wow, I'm not feeling any better, I'm going to go bleed off some protein...
One more thing...When they re run Once More With Feeling, the cut things out...THEY CUT THINGS OUT! I was looking away and suddenly I realized they were cutting out lines. This also shows I do remember every script I've ever done...Still waiting for Whedon to smite me for ruining it with my troupe of boobheads(and Jenny) ha! I'm done...

"Coming of Age"-August 7th 2005-22:11

Mood: Alright

Sunday is the God Given Day of Rest after all...I'm not even religious
as you probably know by now. I'll say this once: I've been going to
school for a long time, but this is the first time I will be attending
class on my birthday. It might not seem like a big thing, but it's
different for me. I think the family is doing Greek tomorrow to
"Celebrate". I put it in quotes as I haven't really done anything for
the past couple years. Sure, Saint and I would usually go out to a
movie or whatnot and the fireworks last year were an early attempt. I
guess it's a sign of maturity that I don't relish in my own birthday.
Come to think of it, we didn't do anything for Saint's birthday(at
least I didn't)...that was during our rough patch...if you could even
call it that...

As a suicidist would say, I'm just glad I made it through another
year. I'm not saying it, I just started the "movement"...oh if I had
the time/will/talent to write a book on the topic.

The Comp Sci Final is Wenesday at 11:30, whoopie doo. It's weird that
the written final is held in the computer lab. The last one was held in
a normal classroom. Godforbid a repeat of that.

I've had quite a peaceful day. Too bad I had nothing to say for it
through. I hoped I would have more to say after a day of thinking. I'm
not on my top in the summer, academic discourse really gets me going...

"Lessons"-August 9th, 2005-1I 9:54

Mood: Alright

Couple of things...I've noticed that Firefly has had a negative effect on my
grammar. I mean, I've said "Ain't" more times this week than I care
to admit. I do have a habit of picking up dialects...remember after the first
semester of English I spent the Christmas break talking like Rideout? One
morning Saint and I were hanging and we just couldn't stop talking in Ebonics.
I went home and talked like that for the rest of the day, it was strange. So if
I start talking redneck, please stop me...I have to stop using mighty as an
adjective. "This here be a mighty fine shindig"...(Sigh)...

2 more shifts this week. I'll get a third one on saturday if I'm lucky or not.
Either way I don't mind it at all. It's nice to get the hours in. It's nice to
be working period. I get my associate card on thursday...if they print me one
by then.

Does anyone know if it's dangerous to actually have a laptop on your lap? The
bottom gets quite warm and part of me doesn't feel right placing that warm
surface next to my genially. Beside the heat, I've heard electromagnetic
inference can wreak havoc on a sperm count...even worse than Mountain Dew. That
one is a myth, just like the one about packaged instant noodles giving you
brain cancer. It's amazing what kids on the playground will think of. What's
ever more amazing is how as we grow up, these things can became almost
"fact".

Hmmm, it's a nice evening out here on the patio. The sun is just beginning to
go down and it's quite cool. Refreshing as well. Benefits of having a portable
computer device. Tee hee...

Anyone notice how odd the English language is? Slim chance and fat chance mean
the same thing. You can actually have phrases like "The third one". Pronunciation
is strange as well but I won't get into that as it's bound to lead to me
recanting the tale of Muffinhead's "Spatula" tale. Or even worse, the
"Hot for You" one. Ewwww...

I'm watching my oldest cat track a small bird in a tree right now. I guess he's
hungry. Most of the time they just don't have the attention span needed to
carry about a full hunt. Like when giant moths come in, they'll bat around at
it for a while then give up. Same with spiders, it's quite funny to watch if
you can get over mom screaming about the little buggers. I can tolerate spiders
and I'll try not to kill them, but anything that's too big to kill if I so
choose scares me.

Mmm, Greek potatoe recipe. I've said this many times, but I would kill for a
good greek potatoe with all it's steamy lemony goodness. The ones we get at the
local place are most probably done in a steam cooker of some sort, which we
don't have. The recipe I'm looking at just involves boiling the potatoes in a
salt water mixture then adding the olive oil, lemon juice and other assorted
spice. I admit, I do like to cook but I don't do it as often as I'd like. It's
more of a simple “protein of the day with rice” deal these days. I've been
pretty much living on apples, mall smoothies and food court asian food. I've
been trying to cut back on the last one. Not that it's not good or anything,
just that the food court and the skytrain station are on opposite sides of the
mall.

38 minutes left on the laptop. No Rush...

Tomorrow is the Comp Sci Final. Luckily for us it's Kenward's Easy Format. You
know, he's been the only prof I've been able to call by his first name and not
feel guilty about it?...that's because it's so different. I'll still call the
rest Doc Welsh, Doc Froc(ha!), Rideout...come to think of it, I don't call Huey
anything to her face...No, I do remember calling her Ms. Huey or something of
the like once. No idea on her marital status nor do I really care to.

The upcoming weekend looks like it's ready for some misadventure. The whole
timetable with Saint and Jenny is messed up, so anything done this weekend will
probably be done on the fly. Just like every other weekend. (sigh)...Speaking
of all that, Jenny registered today...hope she got all the courses she wanted
to. I hope I can carry on a meaningful conversation next time we come in
contact...the first hope is a much better one, they have so many first year
sections...

I'm done...

"Clockin' In/Clocking Out"-August 12th, 2006-21:49

Mood: ---

So I get the weekend off...yay! Sad to say I probably won't do anything with it
(sigh). Pyro was mentioning he wanted to see "Four Brothers", which
wouldn't be a bad idea. Saint has phoned a couple times over the past few
days...not like she said anything. I was just told to be clandestine about
certain actions. We might do something tomorrow as she's usually free Saturday.
No matter what happens, I'm probably going to go to the pool just because I
haven't been in a while. It would be a nice change considering how my past few
weeks have been.

I know I said I'd avoid talking about work, but today was one of those
days....The one thing I don't get it they get four people in at 6 to unload a
truck, but by 11, they have at least 7 guys(not including the morning
shift)...by 11, the truck is done and everyone is unloading stock and carting
cardboard to the compactor. Second thing...I'm flow and receiving...meaning I'm
up and down all around. I'm humping so many things about. So when you give me a
clip on name tag(and timecard), it wouldn't be around on my belt by the end of
the day. You don't know how hard it is to find a small tag in a large store. I
did...so I could clock out...(sigh)...

Next week I'm in for four days and possibly a fifth as they need flow people
out at the PoCo location. Making PoCo by 6?  Yeah, that's going to be
fun....tee hee

All my downtime has pretty much been spent watching Firefly DVD's...I've
watched all of them the first go around, now I'm going back (in order) and
listening to the commentary tracks. Joss Whedon really knows how and likes to
talk about his work.  Funny as hell...I feel a bit bad that I'm watching
them on my own and not with Jenny and/or Saint...but when I do get back with
them to watch them, I'll keep my mouth shut about it all...and yes, I've even
seen Adam Baldwin sing "The Hero of Canton" while wearing the
"cunning hat"...

In the past, the weekends in the summer months have been useless...they were no
different than weekdays...now...My week actually ends on Saturdays and there is
nothing better...and I'm done...(sigh)...nothing really to say...
