"And so it begins"-August 31st, 2005-19:13

Mood:---

Day off...woo...it was a day that called for some new kicks and a few
shirts. A stripped white shirt is the new addition...it's a very rapid
departure from my usually style of dress, but it should work out.

Class starts in less than a week...Forensic Anthro is the first on the block...tee hee. Getting up at six will be nothing.

Speaking of work, the store opens tomorrow...not like they'll be
needing me for that. I'm not expecting to be called in until after I
start school. I liked working that night shift. Yes it was slow for the
most part, but it was quiet...you can't argue with quiet now can you?
Food court greek was subpar, but anything smothered in tzatziki
is worth my time. The salad was alright, it had lettuce in it...an odd
thing for a greek salad.

Upcoming Movies I'm excited about:

-Jarhead

-Walk the Line

-Serenity

I'm done...nothing thought provoking tonight...

"Uncertainties"-September 2nd, 2005-22:02

Mood: ---

It's nice to have some certainty in this world, sad to say my job isn't
really one of them. What is certain? Class begins on the 6th at 8am with
Forensic Anthro, back to my element. My mom always said that work made you appreciate
education. 4 weeks of humping boxes and I'd do anything for a term paper. I was
called in tonight for a shift tomorrow. Which is good as I've spend the past 3
days worrying about my future. I've heard that they've kept people on the roll
but not given them hours. Meaning that the poor blokes aren't making money, but
they can't look for a new job as that may or may not become a conflict of interest.
I don't know where I fit in, but they want me in tomorrow and I'll be in. My
income is the most disposable kind, but I don't spend like I should.

Kwat Round 2 is up and coming as I have previously stated. A couple things are
different and a lot of things are the same. I have a feeling I'm the same...no
massive evolutionary change this year. 3 of 5 Profs are repeats. Which is good.
It's better to work with the evil you know than the unknown. The times are
pretty much the same. What's different? The people I suppose...The
"newblood"...Yes, Jenny is coming and that is different. I'm still
out on whether or not that's a good thing. I'll get back to you on that one.
It's getting to be a huge joke now...more foolish than anything I have ever
done before...and yes, that's saying alot...

The old crew is getting together on Sunday...it's going to be a good time...

I'm done...

"Certainties"-Sept 4th, 2005-12:09

Mood: ---

I'm not disappointed I was let go...I'm disappointed I dropped that other
interview. Meh, like I have time to work while knee deep in full time academia.
Though the local bookstore may be hiring from what I learned at the beginning
of my summer. That and I worked for a big store; I could always apply at
another location. I want to beat myself up about it, like I always do about
everything. I can't. They couldn't keep me because of my hours, because other
people needed the job more...not because I couldn't use a drill gun or pilot a palette
jack with any kind of speed. At least I know I wasn't the only contract let
go...alot of  familiar names weren't on that schedule list. As the
Japanese say: Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Yeah, I didn't really
prepare...but come on...when they make you sign 8 different forms regarding
work, you assume that they want you there...meh. Ironic my aunts were in the
store today...

Enough shop talk...as this'll probably be the last bit of shop talk I'll have
for some time now. Did you know on American radio they can't play "Rock
you like a hurricane" or The T Hip's "New Orleans is Sinking"? I head after
9-11 they couldn't play Cockburn's "If I had a Rocket Launcher." I do
have to say, it's sad to see the rampant destruction of mother nature...even
worse the destruction human beings can do to each other in times of need, I
read in a daily that a sniper was picking off rescue workers...I wonder if they
looted that rifle. Marshal law must just be a hoot (sarcasm intended.)

So, if they don't call me in tomorrow (the bastards won't, at least they better
not...I've seen them do worse) I'll spend the two days getting my head in gear
for Kwat. It's going to be a good ol' time...

I'm just glad I can be certain about some things...

"Kwat Round 2"-September 6th, 2005-20:25

Mood:

(sigh) This has been an interesting day. Beside Saint being hungry enough
to lick a popcorn bag and having both our Ipods mysteriously formatting
themselves during the night today was quite pleasant for the first day of a new
semester. Ha, I said it was round 2.5 when I started Comp Sci. I think it would
actually be 1.5...So far my courses seem to be a hoot. Forensic Anthro has
INCLASS labs so I don't have to run around on my own time to get them all done.
Huey is still the same and intro to policing will be a riot...there's a reading
entitled "The Science of Kicking Ass: The Zero Tolerance Policy. I should
do my reading on that one. I didn't run into Jenny today, but I did talk to her
otherwise...I bumped into a couple former acting people and Omar...who is in
the same psych 1200 class as me tomorrow afternoon.  Maybe Omar can
finally get his first semester paper back from Froc...

I do have to say campus is more crowded than I am currently used to. I guess a
peaceful summer can change the way you view the place.

Right now Saint and I are watching the remaining Firefly's she hasn't seen. I
keep forgetting which ones she's already seen as I keep watching them myself
and I saw the marathon yesterday. We have two to go...but we're taking a snack
break. I think I spent 10 on junk with Saint a couple days ago at Sev...if I
would have gone to the market I could have gotten it cheaper, but I don't
really care. At least I let her get more than one thing this time, unlike
that time at Rogers...she
didn't have a childhood so I guess we're all trying to make it up to her. We're
ratting off list of food that she could it...

So now my mom's mothering at top speed...and Saint is messing with the cat's
head...and I'm finishing up this entry...This year is going to be different. I
can feel it...Different

"Yes, I said "nipples""-September 7th, 2005-20:39

Mood:

I'm dying for the KSA to open soon...I need to get my ass a gym pass...Oh,
Froc's lectures haven't changed a bit...hell I think he reused an 1100 one
today...I thought I was in the wrong class because the wrong prof walked
in...he was the lost one. Omar followed in shortly(didn't see me) and walked
out. I went back into the hallway and laughed at him for it...I also ran into
Shawn and got a lift home...See? I have friends...

No, I haven't run into Jenny yet...god willing...I will...We have very similar
time tables with almost similar down times and layovers(yes, mine are
bigger)...I hope I can run into her in the Lounge(if she can find it)...no,
it's actually out of the way...They're currently remodeling it and trying to
change it's image. Apparently The Fishbowl isn't good enough anymore...I'm just
glad it's not closing down...it's just sparse right now...and no sandwiches in
the Cafe...at least...not yet...

Rideout got the E Building Lecture hall so the Breakfast Classes are going to
be interesting...it sounds like the "Breakfast Club"...which I
haven't really seen...I had to go somewhere while it was on Tv...why I remember
that? I don't know...

Pyro is giving me a lowdown on the current situation at Seaquam...I got out at
a good time...Things are falling apart...especially Acting, but that was a
given with the advant of the Planning 10 which cut down student's electives
down to 1...if I didn't have to take acting...I wouldn't have...meaning they'll
loose alot of people...I won't say good people..., just people....

I'm in no rush to put the Ipod back together...I got by without it on the long
rides to Metro, so the quick hops to Kwat are nothing. Maybe 1526 songs were
too many...not like I ever listened to all of them at once...that would take 4
days....

I don't know why the "back to school" week has bugged me...I've had a
coffee everyday this week and apparently I'm using more triple periods...I seem
to equate drinking coffee to drinking booze...yes I know they're not the same
and most people have 5 coffees before the first bell rings(Clarke, ha)...so I'm
ok...I think Jenny has more coffee than I do on average...she has a coffee
gorilla(and not the warfare kind!)...

Man...these are so short...

"Another Day, Another Dollar"-Sept 9th, 2005

Mood:---

Make that more like 442 as that forms my last paycheck from the HBC...that's still a lot of money to a fellow like me living on a student budget...with no car...I'm going to look for job once I get the time(between reading Heart of Darkness before Monday as well as the first chapter of my Law book...) Yeah, the start of the new semester is a rough time to look for a job. I once said that I was insulted by the time the KSA opened...9:30....they've changed their hours...they now open at 10...if they open at all. I have no idea what's going on with that. All I want is to renew my locker and my gym pass. Get that heavy pysch book out of my house so I can actually have it in class when I needed. Come to think of it, Froc never really taught from the book...he just used his Powerpoint notes from the AOR.

On the offical Lounge rumor that it's closing...false...mythbusted...it's simply being rennovated...They got rid of all the fish and aquatic life murals on the wall...it's just basic white and red now(which aren't Kwat colours)...Here's hoping they reinstall that protector so we can watch the OC if we're stuck here for late classes. Yes, I watched the season premere last night and yes, it's getting stupid...but come on...you wouldn't watch it if it had intellegent plotlines. CSI Vegas is on in a couple weeks...Nick still isn't out of trouble yet...dun dun DUN...Space still hasn't said when they will air Stargate:Atlantis...I hope it's at a decent timeslot...or maybe one of those once a week things as Space is considereing it a "New" show...despite being on it's...3rd? season on other networks. I think it's ironic that Canada is one of the last countries to get new Stargates despite them being filmed in our backyard. You Brits sure got it good when it come to Sci Fi...Hell Europe in general...Where did Serenity premiere?

You think if I sit in the Lounge long enough Jenny will show up? it's not that big of a campus...but it's just big enough. I have a feeling that Starbucks may be CHEAPER than the Lounge now...they have a medium latte running at 3.80+.25 for a flavour shot...I should check that out. Oh, Ha...I got a hot chocolate during the break in Forensic Anthro...it was good, but it wasn't coffee...I think a warm beverage was good enough...

Blastphamus!? I stayed up lateish last night and watched Serenidipity...which by all accounts, should have been a movie I would enjoy...but it is not the sum of it's part...Cusak+Beckinsale+Romantic story about fate=GARBAGE! Still...it was nice to see Kate...God Forbid if I'm actually going to see the new Underworld movie when it comes out...that I can wait for the DVD.

Anyway, I'm gone...the KSA isn't going to open anytime soon

"You're a Natural...Don't screw up"-September 12th, 2005-14:47

Mood: ---

I've always found it hard to print notes from an AOR site when it doesn't
exist...not just yet anyway. I'm unnerved by unknown profs with no
records...and with androgynous names...Pat can leave a lot of the imagination.
At least he/she/it uses the same text as Horner...which is good...god forbid
I'm going to buy a 06 Crim Code Book when my 05 one is plenty fine.

I do like morning classes...I'm not getting coffees in the morning anymore,
instead relying on cafe hot chocolate...which isn't bad. Also, those pleasant
little cheese twist things are plentiful in the morning...they're usually gone
by 11...they go great with a hearty cream of chicken...if you feel like having
cream of chicken at 10 of course...

So, the KSA has moved back to the building they were in last year...Yes, that
means I do have a gym pass and a locker now...I might put it to use
tomorrow...get the muscle moving after a month of nothing but moving muscle.
Now if only I can set up a reference all will be for not.

Depressed By Proxy I suppose...Saint was upset over several dealings in her
life recently...dealing with certain people we'd both rather not deal with and situations
that strike too close to home for me...so you see why the proxy thing is quite
easy. Today I'm fine...which is strange. I can get so depressed I hyperpolarize
and can't become depressed for at least another 48 hours. That's a good thing.

The P90 can field strip into 4 parts...Upper and Lower receiver, spring
assembly and this large thing that comes out of the back...is that an ejection
port assembly as the weapon ejects spend shells vertically down? I know there's
a cleaning kit back there...but this isn't it...Too bad there isn't much info
on the thing. The new civilian SP90 is due out soon enough. It's suppose to be
light blue and have a fake suppressor to lengthen the barrel to correspond with
American gun laws...Sorry, a new project I'm taking on...

I still haven't started putting the Ipod back together...I might have to ship
it to Apple to get a battery changed. I know it's not a good idea for
Apple...but the 5th generation Ipods should have user replaceable
batteries...Unlikely...but it would be a great idea. Have you seen the new Ipod
Nano? It's the size between the Shuffle and the Mini...

Anyway, I'm done...law class is calling

So...Pat...she seems to be a decent sort of person, but one I can
just distance myself from so as to not have a repeat of last time. A lot of familiar
faces...Crompton Survivors and just general Crim Majors I know of. Doesn't that
make it look like a bible thing with the time? Pat said she's pretty much
taught every grade ever...K to University...the kindergarten is obvious as we
have to fill out cards with our names and goals and blah blah...she drew a
diagram on the board on where she wanted the information on the
card...yep...patronizing...I had a tutor like that once...couldn't blame her…she
taught grade 3...every time I did well on a math question..."Oh (insert
name here) High Five!"...I was in grade 11...(sigh)...she ended up being
my cousin in law? Meh...I could never get those family tree things right...

Ha, just like Ogopogo and Big Foot...I had a "The Beast"(like The Cheat!)
sighting during Law...yes, I know...I shouldn't just start drawing beads on
every fat blonde that dresses two sizes to small, but this one has a wave of
instinctive hate and loathing. Ha, of course I'd see it before I saw
Jenny...this is the way of things. That is one of my new
"phrases"...whenever something bad happens (ie the codes of a
department don't match) you simply sigh and say "this is the way of
things"...The other one that seems to be coming into usage is "That's
a large amount of pleasantness"...meant in the most sarcastic of terms.
Add that to "As Sin" and "Everybody and their mom"...

Speaking of Jenny...I don't think she even goes here...one would
assume by sheer number of tries that I would have to run into her once...this
isn't a big campus...it's big enough to do a little dodge work...(sigh) But
come on...you cannot not(wha?) go here and not go to the Lounge or the
Cafe...and that's where I spend most of my down time(not this week though...)

I should be getting home soon...frankly I've been home for most of
the day...so I don't care...

"3 Strike Out"-September 15th, 2005

Mood: ---

Wow...I haven't been writing much this week. I've been knee deep in
Constitution Law, History of the Mounties, the themes within Heart of
Darkness
, how the humorous attaches to the ulna and the radius...It's been
a good week none the less. I ran into Jenny on Wenesday before Psych...I had
gotten off the bus with Katlyn and was talking with her when we came upon
Jenny...I would have stayed longer, but I had psych...the encounter was even
shorter because Jenny misinterpreted Katlyn's comment of "We should
move"...not we should move now to class...we should move out of the middle
of the parking lot...(Sigh) At least I saw her...

I've picked a very bad time of year to cut back on coffee...hot chocolate is
good..but

I was going to go out and hang with Saint tonight...but I couldn't as I have
Anthro in the morning and other things to do in the afternoon...like get a
coffee maker for my mum...(Sigh)...it's her Birthday Saturday...at least I
remembered this year...

Other than that..boring...boring...boring...
