"Changing Additudes"-February 1st, 2006-12:07
Mood:
20 days and counting? A little early for the countdown, but since I have
nothing else to countdown for...
I guess I should start getting prepared for Valentines Day. Yeah, I can't
believe I just said that either...
Another closing, though the tuesday is a little slower...Matt is pretty much
one of the wisest geeks I've ever met in my time. It's nice to actually have
people to look up to these days.
Oh, that barrista? Her name is Angela. Now let's see if she can remember my
name...probably not. The blog does give me an edge though...
Recap, I've missed TWO days of class because I'm sick. I can't miss
tomorrow....so I'm going to medicate up and give it my best shot...I'm definitely
going to see the doctor on Thursday...I think I might need to get my tonsils
out or something(if they still do that)...I've had a high fever and my
throat/neck are sore. Elizabeth
doesn't have it, so it's not something I've been passing around....
What has Pyro done the lappy while I was out?! His Ipod, Headset and Guild
Wars?! Just because the big computer doesn't work, that doesn't mean you can
move your shit onto the lappy! Now I'm glad I didn't get him those
movies....neh!
Speaking of movies, guess who got top combo figures last week? Me! Only because
Staci is on vacation...but still...yay for me!
Done, I should try to get some sleep before tomorrow...

"Fine Line"-February 1st, 2006-8:04
Ok...let me explain...
There is a point where you must make the decision...either you can go to class
and be sick, miserable and not learn anything....or you can stay home and be
sick, miserable and not learn anything...
I'll calling the doc as soon as she opens....
Did I mention that someone from "The Blue Menace" bought movies
yesterday? I guess we're not that different if "they" like
"Fight Club" and "Garden
State"....we both
found it ironic as hell....
Gack, I'll be in my bunk...

"Testing 1, 2, 3"-February 2nd, 2006-1:00
Mood:
So, as stated before I decided not to go to class...I went to the doctors and
in classic fashion it took her less than 5 minutes to see me. During that 5
minutes I got manhandled and a swab jammed down my throat. I had to run that
sample over to the lab and get a blood test, just in case I might have mono.
Yep. Mono...
I talked to Elizabeth
earlier in the evening after she left a voicemail asking how I was (She’s
the best). While she might not have mono, she did a couple years ago and
apparently that has something to do with something. I don't know. I'll get the
test results in a couple days. Hopefully it's just some infection, fully treatable
with antibiotics(which I'm taking now anyway...my doctor sucks) I've heard some
pretty bad mono stories today. Most of them along of the lines of
"Quarantine, contagious and 2 week in bed....Yeah, I can't do that in the
middle of the spring semester. I'd rather die. I thought the worst case
scenario would involve having my tonsils removed....I'd rather have that, than
mono 2 weeks before Valentines Day...Lucky Me.
I'm going to tough it out tomorrow and Friday...and probably work Saturday
morning if I haven't got my test results back...unless it's like..."Yeah,
Megan...I have mono...so I can't work today"...
I should get some sleep...despite that fact I've been asleep pretty much all
day. Minus the hour it took to do all that medical crap this morning.

"On the Mend"-February 3rd, 2006-12:40
Mood:
I haven't gotten my test results back, but today I'm in good spirits and I
think I'm getting better. Here's hoping I don't wake up tomorrow in a big blob
of sickness. I have to work tomorrow anyway. It is so much work to get someone
to cover me, so I'll just show up and fight through it.
So So So...what to say now? I'm actually hungry now. Yeah, I haven't really
been eating over the past week but I'm dying to grab a chicken salad sandwich
and a cup of coffee before class. I never thought I'd like chicken salad, but
on a really bad day nothing better than chicken and mayonnaise(or whatever is
in it) and the cafe usually brews the Mexican Shade Blend which is a really
nice balanced coffee. (sigh)
Ok, I didn't go to class yesterday because I suddenly woke up at noon...so that
was a lost cause. But for Crim Sociology I have to attend the lecture because
that textbook is so dry that I wouldn't learn a thing by reading the book...
Maybe I don't know the real definition of irony, but when you get sick 2 weeks
before the first valentines day as a couple....it just sting a little bit. We
have such nice plans...really really nice plans...
Ugh, I'm done...

"No Power...not Hi Power"-February 4th, 2006
Mood:
I woke up at 7 this morning because I could hear my stereo click off...and my
alarm clock was off. The power went out. So I decided to hell with this and I
got up. I had worked at 10 anyway....I had to go to 711 to get coffee this
morning....We were powered down, as was Starbucks...so it was Mark and myself
for the most boring opening shift ever. We ran out of tasks to do that didn't
require the tills...or lights...
Now, I love my job...I really do...it's the people I have to deal with I don't
like. These people will park in front of the store...look into the dark windows
with the gates on them...they're step out of their cars and walk to the
door...just to give a shake and a push...to make sure that they're not
closed...then they'll yell at us inside...THEN they'll look at the sign on the
door reading: "Power Out: We're Closed, sorry for the inconvenience..."
A maelstrom of people came in the moment we opened (at 2)...you guys just
couldn't wait for your porn... (Sigh)...
So from 2-5 I was on the till...transaction after transaction....solid until I
left...(sigh) It wasn't unusual...it was just the fact I pretty much sat on my
ass for 4 hours then went to full strength in less than 2 minutes. I found that
rough...that and that misguided idea of crediting those damned fast...grrr....nevermind.
Needless to say I'm going to get a bunch of angry people yelling at me because
they didn't get their dollar.
I'm feeling way better. Considering my doctor is next door to my work I won't be
getting test results back today. I highly doubt it's mono. Yay. Did I mention I
ran into Froc on friday? I basically threw the word "blood test"
around and he understood. The antibiotics are doing their thing...I'll be ready
to roll for Valentines Day...yay!
Other than that, I'm going to get changed...
Edit: 11:58
1. Going out with Elizabeth tomorrow (being the 5th )
2. Natalie Portman is going to be on SNL March 4th with Fall Out Boy...

"Happy Campers"-February 5th, 2006
Mood:
(sigh)...good day...
Basic inside date, but we went to the park and walked her dog. Pepper wore a little sweater...
Good Day...
So, I'm all good to go for Valentines Day...
I've been thinking...maybe a couple paychecks after valentines, I might look into a new watch...
What a Good Day
Whoa Whoa Whoa, what do you mean SG1 will use the Mp7 instead of the P90?!
Yes, that was an add-on

"New Words"-February 6th, 2006
Mood:
My renewed faith in the registrar’s automated email system has been shattered
just as quickly as it was restored. Poli Sci was cancelled again, but this time
I did not get the cancellation email until I got home. At least the rent-a-cop
came only 10 minutes into class...not an hour and forty-nine minutes like the
Crompton Debacle of 04. Luckily, it gave me the chance to cover 3 Social Psych
modules and get a combined 14/18 on those little test things I hate so much. I
have designed a new system that will get the last 21 modules done in 3 weeks. I
got myself a turkey sandwich and a coffee. It was a very good sandwich. It made
me happy.
I'm not going to attend the APA clinic. As I have a feeling it might take 3
hours and I'm working at 5. You do not know how thankful I am that I have next
tuesday off. I was under the original impression that Valentines fell on the
monday. Yeah, not so much. Due to class on wenesday, I will be unable to attend
the farewell party for Lauren. I didn't even know she was leaving. So...we're
down to 10 people...too bad.
"Dane Cook" is right, if given
the choice between sex and participating into in a heist, men would choose the heist
(Almost every guy has seen "Heat"
and yelled "I WANT TO DO THAT!" I have!). Running down the street
with an AK 47S (because the folding stock is handy when concealing the weapon)
rattling off rounds at ERT cops screaming "Where's the van?! Where's the
fucking van?!"
Speaking of concealing, I have started buttoning up my long coat half way just
because to access my wallet so I don't have to reach up my closed coat like a
skirt. I just fold the halves back like a gunslinger... I feel like I should be
in an episode of Deadwood or something. I've never seen "Deadwood". I just
rent it to people.
I've reached a new stage. In talking with someone at college, I have used the
word "girlfriend." Oooer. I was talking with Catlyn on the bus and we
were complaining how neither of us have the time to see our respective others.
Her's works in Victoria
and comes on the weekend when she's working. I work weekends and Elizabeth's high school
hours are a little constrictive. Elizabeth and I even talked about how we only
see each other once a week. That's just not enough. No no no.

"Lowered Expectations"-February 8th, 2006: 12:53
Mood: Not so good...
I don't get it. The world seemed angry for most of tonight. At work it was palatable.
It was one of those types of nights where you get everything but the returns
done. That's unheard of for a tuesday. I still like my job, just some times...
So apparently I need to have a thesis statement and outline done for my Poli
Sci paper tomorrow...I have no idea how to research one of these things. Are
there peer reviewed journal articles? Probably not.
Mark and Britany are against Valentines...they seem ecstatic that they don't
have to worry about anyone come next week. Well, just Mark...Britany,
less so...but still. I'm thrilled I have something to do on Valentines Day.
Though I have to say, The 2006 Grad Fashion Show is pretty much the last thing
I see myself attending...but I'm going thursday with Elizabeth. At least she's not in it. That
would be awkward for me....being back at high school alone? Ewww. I got Elizabeth 1/3 of her
present today. I can get another third the day of and I'm forced to pick up the
final third a week after...because it simply doesn't come out before that.
You know, I can't wait to say..."So, You're renting "Rent" on
widescreen?" I made a joke infront of a customer and I turned to Matt and
said "Hey Matt, do I get paid to be funny?" Matt replied "Yes,
and you weren't..." He was kidding.
I do have a good head for faces...I think I saw Tiana on the bus...that ND
Drama Geek from Creative Writing. She didn't recognize me of course. I'm glad I
didn't call it because I thought her name was something else... I'm that type
of guy that can be remembered for a moment and forgotten in another. It's
awesome. Imagine if I took on a clandestine type career? I'm non-descript as
they come.
Oh, back to the Grad thing...I didn't go to the 2004 Grad Fashion show...so
what the hell I'm I doing going now? Oh, right...dating.
I'm no longer a probie as of Saturday. Three Glorious Months.
I'm done...I might get started on that thesis statement...
