"Quite Zen"-May 2nd, 2006-3:22
Mood: Meh
You know, I don't know where to start with this one...how about right here,
right now? I've just walked Saint home and I decided to start my Itunes account
with the credit card. Yeah, I can afford 99 cents for a couple songs every now
and then. Maybe that rare Dallas Green song...or some live acoustic Mayer. Who
knows?
I think I might go back to keeping my life in drawers...Saint wanted me to ask
Elizabeth if she needed makeup done for Grad(something to add to Saint's
portfolio), well considering I asked on AIM and Elizabeth's response included
the phrase "Guinea Pig"...(sigh) Saint will no longer be sitting
beside me when I'm online. It was all well and good before, but now...not so
much. Saint isn't that offended and Elizabeth doesn't actually know what level
Saint is currently at(and is no amateur)...it's not a big deal, but I think I
know where both the women of my life stand when it comes to each other...
Saint thought Capote rocked...of course Capote rocks...
Word Down the Wire: The Boyz might assemble to see Mission Impossible:
III on Friday...Pyro is up for it as he had a blast when we saw V for Vendetta.
I'm not seeing it for Tom Cruise, I'm seeing it for Hoffman! I want to see him
play the bad guy in a large scale studio production...
Argh, obviously this is not the peak season for The Firm...I was in on a Friday
Mid shift and it was dead...I was in on a Sunday Mid and it was more of the
same. God Forbid what the tuesday Mid is going to be like. I've done Tuesday
Closings for the longest time and it's always been dead...I'll tell you, it's
hard to be a CSR with no C's to S...Tee hee, that was suppose to be somewhat
funny.
I don't know how we got on the topic(maybe it was Britany) anyway, she was
talking about buying a book on "Jewish Churches"...I said something
about them being Synagogues, not churches....I remember I went to one as a
Scout...I said something about the Jewish g-d having no physical form and you
cannot say/write the name(hence g-d) I finished off saying that Judaism was
quite Zen...or at least I thought it was a cool religion...Judaism being Zen is
just funny...
Yeah, that didn't have a point. I don't care...
Tomorrow? Midshift on a tuesday night an...well, I don't know...I think I could
swing coffee with Elizabeth
before work...gah, egoistic relationships...
Still freaking out about my review...and marks...like Sociological Causes...my
paper and final were bombs, but I hope my other marks will balance that out...

"More Semantics"-May 3rd, 2006-22:30
Mood: meh
I should really stop worrying. I'll soon run out of things to worry
about. All my marks are in and with the horrid Stats mark I'm at
2.88GPA(Good, but not Great)...My six month review won't be as bad as
Laura and I believe it to be. It won't be all sunshine and puppies mind
you, but it's not the dressing down we seem to expect. It's a review to
see what you can do and what you can do better...not a review to see if
you should still work for "the Firm." Did Megan just describe me as
"Bubbly"?...
Hmmm, Shopgirl? I knew I would like it, but it didn't really strike me
until about halfway through...Part of me has to believe Steve Martin
wrote the screenplay for the movie just so he could fondle Claire
Danes...It's one of those cute little movies that relies on
conincidence to get a plot across. Ah (sigh) Jason Swartzman character
was really stupid in the first half, but being all "Zen" with the band
(Red House Painters I believe) changes him...so cute. (Sigh) I should
have really called up Elizabeth and we should have watched it
together...but all her essays are coming to a head...God Forbid what
it's going to be like when she has to write her....4 provincials.
(sigh) I have all this time, but not enough to spend with her...Way too
many sighs in this passage.
Didn't I say I wouldn't worry? Meh...I also said I'd get up early
this morning and run. Tomorrow...I swear...I'll run...chug my fat bum
out across the neighborhood at high speeds. Oh, and clean up my
"office"(techincally that's 3 rooms in the house as I spread my
personal effects)
Did Whedon just describe an Xmen character as Blackadder with boobs? (cough) BLACKADDER! BLACKADDER!
(sigh)
I think I'm done...this was suppose to be bigger...

"Similar, but different"-May 4th, 2006-21:21
Mood:
Ha, I just watched "Stargate"...the original 1996 movie. (sigh)
Everyone I know wonders how such an awful movie could become such a wonderful
tv show. I'll give it to Michael Shanks though, he matches James Spader's
Daniel Jackson very well...sometimes I swore it was Shanks talking and not
Spader. That's why Daniel doesn't wear dogtags...they would just have James
Spader's info on them...That's a joke.
I've been thinking of getting into podcasting. Maybe do a movie review type
show every now and then. Get people from work and banter on. I wonder if the
Firm would officially sanction such an action. Not like they have to. We just
couldn't use "the Firm's" name in the podcast. Of course, to start a
podcast I would first have to get over the fact I hate my own voice so much.
Gah, I don't even record voice mail greetings anymore...
Hmm, of course the Boyz can't organize anything...meaning I hope I can go out
with Elizabeth
tomorrow...maybe a movie...like a real theatre movie...Oooer...

"Levels"-May 6th, 2006-1:29
Mood:
So, Scary Movie 4...meh, some parts were somewhat funny...like the absolutely
poor Japanese with the Grudge Boy and Anna Farris. So bad it "dishonored
my ears." It was a pretty basic date with Elizabeth, though she is getting...distant*?
I'll have to think of a better term for it...but it's what I'm getting. I'm
still figuring out this "relationship" thing. Plus, High school girls
are always tricky...give her a few months...she'll get over it.(and graduate)
Review tomorrow...shouldn't be that bad. While I was in getting
"Stargate" (made in 94, not 96) Laura was "debriefing" me
about her review and Mark said "If you were worried, why didn't you just
ask me?"
...
I talked to Britany first, but she didn't do much to reassure me. Of course
that talk with Mark about "Fear and Guilt" didn't help either. I try
to reassure the Probies...I use Probie in an endearing way.
You think I could take Elizabeth
to a "Firm" Party without it being too weird? She did apply for a job
and that didn't go well...I swear she said she goes to "The Other
Place" now...Meh, I'll see about that when the time comes. Why did I just
bring that up? Maybe I want to bring Elizabeth
into other parts of my life and get rid of "the drawers"...we are
planning some sort of shindig. Ha, I said Shindig.
While I was walking Elizabeth
home I heard someone in a passing Nissan yell at us. I assumed it was someone
Elizabeth knew...nope...Saint...(sigh) Elizabeth
is willing to let Saint do her make-up for some church thing...which is a step.
I have so much time on my hands these days...I like this "no college"
thing...only for four months though. I don't think I could go any longer
without getting some sort of formal grade. Elizabeth says she'll go to Kwat in the
fall...woot...English Major. I always seem to fall for the English
Majors...maybe that one Kinesiology, but that was character development. What
do you do with a BA in English? You know, besides teaching(Even Princeton ended
up teaching)...I'll have to ask Dani that...or not. It didn't occur to me until
about halfway through Scary Movie 4 that Anna Farris looks like a blonde
Dani...which isn't a bad thing(cough) It’s nothing…it just makes a really good
story.
Meh, Done...

"Grilled"-May 7th, 2006-12:56
Mood:
I wish they'd use a better word that "Competent", but that's how the
scale works. Megan said I did good and I can improve...(Sigh) did she actually
write "PV King in my official file? Only at the Firm. I thought I'd be
done once the review was over...but the first customer I deal with is Elizabeth's dad...He's
one of those guys that always tries to break your hand when he shakes it. I'm
going to phone her up tomorrow and ask how she enjoyed "Hitch."
Britany said something about going to HMV, seeing a U2 album(or poster) and
thinking of Elizabeth.
I told her I don't even have that train of though...technically, yeah...but not
as instantaneous. So it was a nice saturday pitch shift.
Ironic...I needed more training on the till but I'm the one on the till for the
most it...That's why I'm so good at working the Floor...I'm terrified of the
Till...
Anyway...I rented Munich
tonight. The box reads 164 minute running time but it doesn't feel that long at
all. It's not all about black bag operations, it's about the emotional toll it
takes on the men during those years. I really enjoyed it. Eric Bana is awesome.
"A Hole in the World" is not the Angel episode that I should see
after Munich.
Gah, how many times have I seen it? 4 or 5 times? I still cry each time.
Poor Wes...You know I should watch "How I Met Your Mother." I just
want to see AD without the accent. Even the good folks at "Week in
Whedon" say it's foreign and scary.
So, this week? I don't know...I considered renting some videogames...start
running...Wireless Seminar...Elizabeth
and a downtown outing? Who knows...I'll play it by ear.

"Zen Pt 2"-May 8th, 2006-3:50
Mood:
So...rented a lesser known comedy...The Hebrew Hammer...I wouldn't recommend it
to everybody, but it was funny. I'm surprised Pyro got some of the larger Semitic
jokes...or maybe he just laughed when I started to...probably the second one.
No, it's not a theme following Munich with The Hebrew Hammer(well both have the
idea that you "Don't fuck with the Jews"...direct quote from Munich)
Mum and I are still wondering if it truly was a pro-Israeli film...Munich...not
Hebrew Hammer...THAT was definitely pro-Israeli...Fighting an evil Santa Clause
with members of the Kwanza Liberation Front...(sigh)...Funny...and I do like
Adam Goldberg's work...like..."I Love Your Work"...he penned the script
and directed it as well...I might the only PV copy we have...well, the only
copy we have right now...we have at least 6 copies and we won't need all
6...ever...
Is it just me, or did "We are Scientists" name their latest album
after a Salinger Nine Story? "With Love and Squalor?" Could be the
influence...but Love and Squalor are fairly common terms...
Tomorrow? Again, playing it by ear...Lunch with Elizabeth at 5:30....I don't
know how she's going to "avoid carbs because of Phase III" at a sushi
place, but she agreed to it...(sigh)...I'm not even asking what phase III is
about....because I already know.....
Done...I should get some sleep...

"NightHawk"-May 11th, 2006-2:17
So, let's take a break from Dead Like Me Season 1, Disc 4. I
have to say one of the nicest things to come out of the wireless training
seminar is that fact HMV has the boxset for 19.99. That's a bargain. I would
have paid full price too...
I'm not going to ramble on about today. I'll say that it wasn't what I expect.
Psychological studies say that games help people learn, not boring lectures on PowerPoint.
I'm not a corporate person, but an old friend at the bus stop mistook what I
said. "Up in the "tower"" doesn't mean I've sudden gone corporate
and I'm no longer a movie nerd. Coffee was free...as were other beverages.
50/50 split between the movie nerds and the wireless pros. Oh, my cell phone
still sucks.
Some Things:
1. I hold the belief that I am a complicated person. I don't think I
am...but I believe that I am. I'm too complicated to figure out if I am indeed
complicated. Go figure that one out.
2. I think the Five Levels of dress is catching on....at least with The
Firm members I've talked to recently. It's nice just to say "level 3"
and have it mean something. I've expanded it to include a pseudo three level
athletic scale as well.
3. Breakfast is still king of the meal times and hash browns(actually
"hashed") are the crown jewel of the breakfast foodstuffs. Add some
extra crispy bacon, dry toast and brown sauce then you have yourself a meal.
Scrambled eggs with a dash of pepper are usually included but can be omitted.
Those are the special breakfasts...usually it's a piece of fresh fruit(or a
smoothie variant) with a piece of toast (Peanut Butter + honey*) and possibly yogurt...cannot
forget the coffee.
4. I've had a lot in women in my life. They all make good stories. Like
the intriguing Goth girl in creative writing who had her own charm despite the
times she had a flemmy asthma attack. The infamous Dani of Anthro fame who
could have been something if only my spine didn't arrive for Christmas. Tiffany
Lund who used to live across the street. Saint, Jenny, Britany and Elizabeth
have their own stories. That's what I like. Stories...I need to get Elizabeth a Zippo
(U2?) because all my "special people" have lighters. Saint
+Pyro(don't tell Pyro...he has a big enough ego anyway) You know what I just
realized. I knew a girl in the years in the youth and she stayed over one
night. She had peanut butter and honey on her toast. Yeah, I know that sounds
like a sorted one night stand story...but I have a feeling we could have been 5
and she lived down the street. Julia? Yeah, that was her name. I think the last
name is Ward, but don't quote me on that one.
Maybe I should take Elizabeth
out tomorrow...picnic in the park...we can cuddle on a blanket...I can rest in
her lap and she can run her fingers through my hair...or something like that...

"Quick Deployed"-May 12th, 2006-3:00
Mood: Meh
Just a note, I'm NEVER going to do a video blog..."FithyWhore"
on Yourtube seems to like them though...she has an edge though...she's cute...I
would have picked a better avatar though. Not like I'm the right guy to give
advice on avatars....Pyro's full one is better...."EnragedPyro" is
original enough and half decent. Being the 8th GreyCleric doesn't really say
much.
OH SHIT! IT'S DR TRAN!
So, I was called in for a short cover shift tonight. Again, I like being
"called out"...It was sheer chaos when I arrived...well, as chaotic
as my job gets...Tiffany said something about Elizabeth's friends coming in
early and called our relationship "cute." Cute? Alright....sure...
Though, I haven't really calibrated my sarcasm meter to Tiffany yet...so...that
could be it as well...because I don't think(I hope not) a gaggle of Elizabeth's
friends would come in and make comments to my co-workers about things...but
then again...they are high school girls...(sigh) No one told me they have a pro
D day tomorrow. These days those are mixed blessing...Elizabeth has the day off...as does
Pyro...so...I have to contend with him tomorrow...
Working the weekend with two long shifts back to back...I would like to think
Megan is bringing in the Big CSR Gun to work the Customer Appreciation
Weekend...but I won't...because she isn't...
So...that's it...
