"Much Farther to Go"-September 3rd, 2007-18:08

A few things before I start.

I don't know what a "long weekend" is in the traditional sense. A "long weekend" for me is three shifts of 100+ transactions and silly questions.

House season four starts September 25th at 9pm on Fox. Dani was pleased with that bit of information. I don't otherthink it. I think you shouldn't either.

I want to say Staci and I will meet David Hewlett this weekend, but it's unlikely. However, seeing "A Dog's Breakfast" at the VFS is a movie geek's dream come true. I'll be onhand to keep Staci from mauling Mr. Hewlett if he does show. She hopes he'll bring Joe for my sake. If I squeal like a fangirl, I can blame it on Staci.

Staci wants David to sign Nothing. That's a joke. I won't explain it.

Tomorrow is back to reallife. After a summer of not working out(just working) constant trips to the pub and one emotional disaster after another, waking up at 7 tomorrow will be more than difficult. It will border on impossible. However, I'm really good at impossible.

because impossible is nothing...that's from a shirt I read once.

Apparently I have to order my creative writing texts from Chapters. The one listed in the official booklist is incorrect and the proper ones are unavailable through the campus bookstore. This is the first year I've waited to buy books. I'm pleased.

I guess I can't be nocturnal anymore. Oh well.

I'm also CoH retired for the time being. I managed to get the so called "Natalie Portman + Superman" Tanker off the ground. She'll go great with the Amy Acker + Captain American" Scrapper.

I came up with this yesterday...

"I'm a part-time CSR, but I worry about the store like a full-time Shift. Isn't that odd?"

Creative Writing tomorrow too. That'll be awesome.

...and if that pit they're digging in the old gas station near work gets any deeper I'll have to put on a garbage bag and shout into it.

Staci thought that was clever, however I ended up coming out as Natalie Portman..."but I don't even own a pink sweater!"

Also, never get a haircut on Labor Day. Labordabor Day...I've never waited half an hour for a haircut in my life.

Motorhead on GHII? Disappointing....The Donnas on GHII? Fantastic!

Done and done.

"Back To You"-September 4th, 2007-5:35

I shouldn't get a big ego on first day of creative writing, but when I wrote something about longing and sadness, other people got it and didn't think it was crap.

You get one guess who it was about. You'll probably be right.

There's only a handful of us in the course. Happy days.

The Corrections Crim Course is taught by a hippie. His views on the system make me look like a fascist stormtrooper.  fascist? Maybe...Stormtrooper? No way, I'm a way better shot than that. I don't shoot like a stormtrooper.

Pause for joke.

However both Shawns will liven up that course. One Shawn from High school, the other was in all my courses last semester. I can't remember which one he wasn't in...

If they ever made a Virtueverse CoH movie. I would get:

Kate Beckinsale as Blizz complete with the blue hair. Blizz is English.
An unknown actress as The HotShotKid. She has to be 16.
Amy Acker as Freedom Franny. That's a given just have Amy gain about 10lbs of muscle mass and we're set.
Keira Knightly as The unnamed Natalie Portman Tank because the studios would want her hotter. Dammit.
Milla Jovovich would play the Dual Knives(Offical Powerset for I11) scrapper I named DarkenedSteele.

I just wanted to do that for the Keira Knightly joke.

Done and Done.

Title as we go. I thought the book line would be longer, so I have more time to kill between Sociology and Psych. This psych course looks like the The Law and Psychology from a more psych dominate point of view. I just hope it's not verbatim 2204. While that was a fantastic course, it would just be wasting my time. This could also be a crim primer for psych majors just like the other one was a psych primer for crim majors.

Witty.

It's The Firm Softball Game today. Despite telling the Lt I wasn't going, I still got a call this morning asking if I needed a ride. Can't really play softball when you have a 10am and a 4pm class.

Though, they say if you don't play, you work regardless of what you're doing. I have class. deal with it!

God forbid who's covering the store today. I won't even try to figure that out.

Creative writing is stalling at this point. I have to get 10 pages out by the 13th. That's fairly simply by my standards. I might have to pick a different topic. I don't know that much about IA investigations.

Could I actually start writing about movie geeks in a formal setting?! Wah?! Write what you know, but I Know Nuthin'. Except how to type dialects. As much as I like the girl, I can't write Staci. She's too impossible to explain. However, that mirror thing I came up with yesterday seemed t work as my

relationship with Staci is like walking on a mirror, always watching yourself fearing you might break something.

It didn't make sense to me even when I wrote it, but the class got it. Maybe I have more talent than I thin. John Hodgman says to be a good writer you have to believe that people care about what you have to say. This is difficult, but a critical part of writing. People who come by this natural are terrible writers. Other critical components including being to describe facial hair with great detail. I add another one in that you must be able to describe female underwear in great detail. It just makes for better writing.

By the Way, our outing on Saturday is confirmed. I just hope the Lt hasn't accidentally scheduled me in...He's done it before. Heck, the old Lt. made a spring schedule based on fall availability. I had to get a handful of shifts covers.

I don't really feel like lunch right now, but I should have something before 4.

"Happiness"

So. I should recap this week....in a nutshell.

The week back to school has been pleasant. The 10am classes aren't bad at all. The subjects matter will sort itself out in time. I have no idea what sociology is going to bring. Corrections could go either way very quickly. Creative Writing and Forensic Psych(being taught by the psych department this time) looks very promising.

I caught Staci on the bus as I was coming home. She was heading into work. We hung out for a while before then.

Friday, I worked. Mini close with the Sarge

Saturday....Saturday.

Staci and trekked downtown to the VFS to see a showing of "A Dog's Breakfast" hosted by the school's screenwriting department. After the filming was a lengthy Q&A with the cast and crew...meaning David and Kate Hewlett, Jane(David's fiancée and producer) and John Lenic(Fellow producer and allknowing-seeing Stargate God).

I'm always a little happier when Staci is happy...so Needless to say we were both ecstatic.

Of course we arrived an hour early, sitting in one of the couches in the hallway leading to the theatre. About half an hour before it started, David walked by and looked Staci square in the eye and said "hi." I'm surprised I didn't have to pull her off him at any point.

The movie was fantastic and the Q&A was mostly informative. A lot of the questions were tech related. A couple screenwriting questions were thrown in. I thought about asking one key question but soon thought better of it.

"Um David, what does Nicole deBoer smell like?"

Staci also got him to sign "Nothing." David instantly got the joke.

I don't think I've ever seen Staci that happy.

I also have a lot of fodder for my creative writing project due on the 13th.

-Cleric

It was a good day. For a lot of reasons. Most of them involved Staci and coffee. Oh...and a Canadian acting genius.

"These Things Pt II)

I'll write something just to write something.

Things

1. "Social norms!? I'LL VIOLATE YOUR SOCIAL NORMS!" *shakes fist*

2. "That muzzle flash must have been post, but it would be have awesome it was practical."

3. World's Finest Catwoman > Grayson Catwoman

4. I should buy Equilibruim

5. Why haven't I bought Equilibrium before?

6. Iron Man Trailer=awesome.

Corrections 2214 will be fantastic on Thursday. We're getting Anna McCormick as a sub. Anna McCormick from Sociological Causes of Crime. Blue Hair Special?

Corrections today?...still a giant hippie.

I've scrapped current creative writing plans and I'm going back to the basics to meet the deadline. I can use my other ideas for later projects.

so the emotionally distant vs. the emotionally unstable can wait.

Done.

"Disconnect"

"He doesn't look sick" Cleric noted to himself, watching his cat preen near his keyboard, meticulously picking between his toes. Cleric knew better, seeing the X rays in the vet's office.

No, I'm not going with the creative writing opener. But he doesn't look sick as he's sitting in my lap. With enough House behind me, the X ray seemed more like an MRI(more soft issue) but what do I know? Nothing.

The vet said a month. Two weeks also kicked around. I was told that I should be shocked he's even eating at this point. we just have to give him plently of love and make him comfortable during whatever time he has left.

The first person to know...was oddly Staci. Since she worked at four and saw me pass the store at 3:30 with the cat caddy, she can put two and two together. She actually waited with me until it was Madison's turn.

Saint got mad at me for turning this into a Staci thing but Saint was the first person to know about the outcome. Staci became the second as I worked at 7:30. I was offered a hug as my shift started. I told her I'd have to save it for something really big, like the world  truly ending because Staci doesn't give out hugs readily. I've gotten two in the 2 years I've known her. Technically 3 as she "accidentally" gave me one when we accidentally started talking about cats. I protested that she just wasted my hug but promised to give me another one sometime in the future.

I remember not crying the Boxing Day my granddad died, but I did randomly four months later for no reason. I almost cried today. I'm fully aware he's an old cat. Thirteen...I got him when I was in grade 2...and now it's third year college. Saint, who has pets go, told me not to be selfish and when the time comes let them put him down. The vet did give me a selfish option of draining excess fluid for a little more time...

I'm comfortable with death....just my own of course. Everything else is still valid.

Now it's the emotionally vulnerable vs the emotionally absent. I'm also fully aware Staci knows about that phrase and which side she's on. I think she enjoys it.

Anything else? Work at 6...that's it.

Worry Worry-September 16th, 2007-3:44

Watching Death Proof. .5 of Grindhouse. Don't buy it, wait for the Grindhouse version coming out before Christmas. I know I made the call on the 300 boxset, which will happen. You just have to wait.

Planet Terror might be better. Robert Rodrequez and Zombies can't be a bad things. Of course, QT and Vampires didn't come out on top either.

Work was work. Mini Shift with mostly Mark and Staci so it wasn't so bad.

I had coffee with Staci earlier. Her with her complicated cinnamon dolce latte and myself with my Battery Acid Americano. It was a little awkward for reasons I care not to admit, but I still like being around her, paid or otherwise.

The intimacy issue is interesting. Perhaps because she as damaged as she is beautiful that draws me to her. Short hair too, always a plus. Add in some nice eyes(regardless of the colour these days) and I'm vulnerable.

Oh, there's the Big Kahuna Burger reference. Also, QT playing the bartender shouted "now that's a tasty beverage!" I'm still waiting for Red Apple cigarettes and some Monster Cereal to round out the QT product placements. Feet and Long shots are plentiful.

I bought Equilbrium and Pulp Fiction at HMV yesterday. 15 each. Ooooer. My movie collections seems complete today.

Wow. DeathProof is a B Grade Softporn film. That's QT to the core.

Planet Terror is coming out in October. Go figure. Split Grindhouse to make more money and so the stupid people don't leave/turn it off after Deathproof.

I also bought a new pair of shows. Exact same style I had before.

Creative Writing is going well. I don't know how I could peer edit someone from group 2 when group one has handed their stuff in.

Revamp. Deathproof is a B grade softporn film with copious amounts of violence. THAT's QT to the Core.

Apparently I technically missed a creative writing assignment about what we're suppose to do. Of course, I'm not the only one and I'm not going to sweat the tiny proof. Either way, It's Cops, Cops and "Staci." Somehow...I'll have the whole semester and a textbook to figure that out .

It won't work because I can't remove myself from what I'm writing...and in real life people who work together can go out without people caring.

That's just The Firm and Staci being emotional absent. But part of me finds her darn interesting.

There's the Red Apple reference.

and why I'm I worried about a peer edit due tonight? I'M GROUP One! My buddy Lorne didn't turn in his goals for the semester so I can rally with him.

Anything else?

Nope. Writing about how stupid/stubborn you are doesn't make much sense, but I can write about detectives without any crime...go figure.

And the second half of Deathproof is like Rent the movie...Tracie Thoms and Rosario Dawson.

Done.

-Cleric

Ps. I do hate myself, that's what I Do it.

Darkest Place.

I should be worrying about my cat more than my (Anti)Social Life.

Anti Social in the sense that I'm against being social, not against society or Anti Social Personality Disorder.

For the purposes of this blog, Anti Social Personality Disorder, psychopathy and sociopathy are going to be the same thing. God help me if I ever refer to some one as a sociopath or a psycho. Poor word usage at best, downright ignorant at the worst.

Hey, an entire Cold Case episode with Nirvana Music? Oooer.

I almost can't believe I stayed up a couple nights ago and watched the second part of Band of Brothers on Tv. I actually can't believe Dad did the same thing for parts 3 and 4. I bought it for the man for Christmas last year and he hasn't touched it.

creative writing removed due to it becoming actual class work.

That's it for today.
