I thought about writing something, but all the crazy glue, plastic glue and the dust from the model sand is getting to me. Oh, and inhaling the spray primer can't be a good idea either.
Work? Heck, the day was a blur because I pretty much woke up at 11:10 for a 11:30 shift. Still made it there at 11:20 coffee in hand. Of course you have to make a terrible calculus and a shower had to be sacrificed. If it wasn't the first day back with washed clothes I would have thought different of it. I managed to run home on my break for a shower and believe me nothing on this earth is better than having a caffeined shower then going back to work, you feel like a whole new person. Other things that rank close (in no real order) are:
1. Drinking coffee (Good coffee) in a suit
2. Breaks with Staci(whether or not they're mine or hers)
3. The "Smell" of Warhammer. I don't really know what that is, but Pyro can call it too...something about plastics, primer and plastic glue that permeates my upstairs and a G-W.
Maybe Staci should have been number three since it would have made a way better segway to what I'm going into next....I'm not going to change it, I just want to establish a forced segway.
Remember how I said a couple entries ago Brother Mark and I cannot live up to her expectations? Well, turns out...we still can't...but at least she's not purposely mean about it. She apologized for being...I think "snippy" was the word she used...it was something to do with Grace being Gone and wasn't directed at myself and Brother Mark. Come to think of it, both times she's apologized for being snippy had to do with Grace. At least we don't have to worry about her anyway. She was great; the only problem with Grace is she only wanted to work when she wanted to work.
I can't believe we've had a 75% turnover rate in less than three months. Maybe I've been immune to seeing it before since, for the most of it...we've been a fairly tight knit group.
Other Staci moments of the week:
1. We must get other Stargate Atlantis fans to send in crates of fake plastic lemons to protest the show's cancellation. We figure if it worked with those Jericho morons and their peanuts, it'll work for us. Other ideas were sending boxes of fake vampire teeth candy to represent the Wraith...that was Staci and it was stretching it a little. I wondered if there was blue bug candy.
2. I have to say for those 3 or 4 hours we shared a shift today it was fun. I find it hard to say that I have fun at work these days since I'm bluer than Amy Acker in "Shells" most of the time....That joke used to be funny, I swear.
3. I shared her break today over coffee and Subway. The conversation was predictably meaningless, but really...who do I have meaningful conversations with anyway? No one. I just comment on her hair, her teeth (Since she can't physically close her mouth...and I mean that in the best way possible) and whatever TV we're both currently watching. I might have brought up "Keen Eddie" since Brother Mark and I watched it a while ago simply because Mark Valley IS Captain America. Come on, the man went to West Point and served in the Gulf!
Give him a buzz cut, a shield and let him hang out with Robert Downy Jr. and Edward Norton. Booom! Avengers movie!
Oh, and Sienna Miller. We don't really care what she does anymore....Who is the Baroness anyway?
Ok, that got off track...either way...despite everything...I like spending time with Staci.
And...Come to think of it...Why do I have such a problem with women when two of my best friends are women! You'd assume I'd be able to convert any of that knowledge into something useful. Nope. Speaking of Saint…she should have made contact….hmmmm.
Demolisher Tank came out great. I've left out all the long fragile Comms units of all my other tanks so I just stick the Demo in the top of the case turret and all...it's a real pain having to separate the turret from the hull every time I want to move it about....
So that's the fifth Leman Russ chassis vehicle I've put together. I treaded the thing in one night while watching Back to the Future III. I get faster and more accurate every time. I can see myself doing another Chimera soon for my Inquisitor and his Retinue...maybe get some Hellhound Armor for the turret (I don't even know if they're separate pieces)....I have to start learning how to do Rhinos since that's what my Sisters of Battle/Inquisitional Stormtroopers will be riding in. That and the Immolator is based on the Rhino chassis. I have a single Sister of Battle drying out in the garage for test purposes. I'm going with an "Our Order of the Martyred Lady" Paint job with Brass Bolters since I'm against completely bolt gun bolters....what type of gun nut would I be?
Done? Done. I have to pull my contacts and get some sleep. I close tonight with Brother Mark at quarter after four.
And...just a note...there is something a little odd that Deb and Steve of the Weepies got married and had a kid...I mean, you knew it was going to happen...but even I'm against that much of a cliché. Still, good luck to them...now it's just Steven and Debra Tannen....but Deb Talan was close enough as it was.
