It's good to be back here, it really is. The other one just doesn't have the four year history of my nonsensical rantings like this one does. It really makes a guy feel like people might be taking his "writin' stuf" on the internet seriously.

Half an hour or so to kill before I have to back to Philo. I hate the class and I hate everyone in it, so I don't care about the test.

Considering I almost died Friday night from too much caffeine, I'm spending this week detoxing with green tea. Yes, it is my new quiet shame...and it's not as fun as 40k, but it keeps me awake and alert for the stupid things I must be awake and alert during. Like work last night. One of the most brutal standard shifts I've ever done. Something like 4-2 in the morning doing the switch over. Most stores had the man power to do an overnight thing, but all we have are newbies and not enough people to open the store the next day...unless I closed. Which would have sucked.

So that's coffee off my list of things I enjoy. I'm pretty sure with the US Election tonight, House will be a repeat. Knock that off. I haven't had the heart to talk to Dani lately either.

And Staci, is Staci in all her wonderful complicatedness. Though, we hung out Thursday night in a miserable cold attempt to get things for her nonwork halloween costume....

You know we weren't allowed to dress up this year? Everyone I tell that to is shocked. Starbucks did, as did everyother place in the mall we're in. even the fucking dentist. We all have our own theories about why. Either way, Boooo. Still, Staci was Abby dressed in one of our uniforms...she did a great job. She always does.

Why do I get Fish and Chips? I love them, but they rip apart my stomach something fierce after...and I have to be here for at least another 50 minutes.

CoX? I've been messing around with new characters like the SECOND Trenchcoat Terror as Edward Novak's half Japanese/Half french Parkour son...Radium Eyes is the escaped Crey Robot powered by CoT magic...and Stella Spectre is the rogue longbow with Sai's looking for Violet Roe who took her eye.  I just like Stella Spectre is one of the best names I've come up with hands down. Though, I did start off on a lownote with "blizzard blaster.." (sigh)

 Done? Done...I guess....Sure.

I'm at clericsspace.blogspot.com since I still can't access this site from home. I'm killing those two hours between Crim and the hell that is first year Philo.

My prof has to be a hardline Pro-Lifer to even own a movie of the magnitude he showed last week. It was meant to be pro life propaganda, but it made me want to have kids even less. It felt like a shooting gallery filled with impressionable 18 year olds...and me...

Also, that guy ahead of me that chews his pens drive me nuts. I watched him naw through three in a 3 hour course. Also, he didn't get my joke about "Postal natal abortions..."

I've said before, work sucks...last night wasn't so bad and it truly was Scott's "Awesome Close" with Brett and myself on that night. The Sarge is back Wednesday from his two week vacation. I say 'vacation' which people imply he went somewhere, he just didn't have to come to work.  I have two more shifts this week...another close with Brett on Wenesday and the Sunday CSR open...but like always, I'm on call Saturday.

I've seen pictures of Staci's NCIS Abby costume. While she doesn't have the wig yet, the rest of it is spot on...the lab coat I got her wasn't that big...the small one wouldn't have fit her at all.

I still haven't decided what I'm going to be for halloween. Since I have a presentation in class that Friday I'm not dressing up for class...and I'll need a "worksafe" costume...I'll probably do House with Chucks this year....but he doesn't wear black ones...I can fudge that. I got better insoles for them and I'm happy.

I'll call my contact person wenesday morning in order to get an interview for the next week...which will give me 2 weeks to work on the project itself. Journal one is due on Friday. That'll be taken care of thursday night. I need to 'discuss' my feeling on Criminal justice...and I can talk about my feelings.

I figured out I left my card holder at work last night after I got changed....but I left home early for class incase it wasn't at work...then I'd have to run home and tear the house apart...since it has all four of the most important cards I own...Credit, Debit, ID and Care Card....I always probably could jam in one more...oddly enough it would be the scene card for the movie theatre...like I need a card when I rent movies. (sigh)

It's like setting off a bomb when Staci has breakfast in the morning. The sudden influx of proper nutrition sets her system off and she goes a little hyper...so I got her a breakfast sandwich from Starbucks before I left...like I would be there to deal with the results. Ha. She's fun when she's hyper...hell, she's fun all the time.

It's tuesday...meaning I have an excuse to talk to Dani about whatever House is doing tonight. yay.

Should I get lunch? I'll probably wait until the short side before class to get a sandwich. I didn't die after I had the last one, so the meat should be ok now. there was a little scare earlier that the cafe used meat from Maple Leaf....I guess not.

Done? Done. I have nothing interesting to say.

When writing for "vaguely" science fiction project, like...lets say the City of heroes gear list for HSK...it helps to turn to medical gadget blogs to see how on the dot you might be...like a portable EKG program in a palm pilot, or a liquid bandage. There are also countless pieces of technology that can be "incorporated" into existing CoH concepts to make them more "realistic..." like the MediCom patch that each hero is issued which allows them to be transported to the hospital blah blah blah. Anyway, I've always envisioned them as a patch placed on the lower back that transmit relative data to an awaiting emergency team for treatment.

Apparently, there are "smart" tape systems in developement to track vitals of a patient...and these "wearable crystal patches" that react to shockwaves and change patterns, allowing medical professionals to know what type of injury may be present. They haven't discovered a diagnostic test for the patterns, but when they do...it'll be awesome.

I'm also looking at a type of "silly putty" for repairing broken bones in the field that also splints them...

So scenes from Serenity(Simon's Foam bandage) and Blade Trinity(Jessica Biel's protein bandage) aren't that far off.

Monday was fairly awesome. Staci and Co. got together to watch the 2 hour season premiere of Heroes while drowning ourselves in Indian food. Just the two of us got Gyros earlier of the day. GW was thankfully closed so I spent money on useful things such as a copy of "Choke" and "World War Zed"...and a 6 dollar Copy of Constantine on DVD...and...the entire run of The Bionic Woman for 16 dollars....Yes, I know...it's a guilty pleasure, but there is nothing like watching Michelle Ryan in all her hot sexiness pick up a SUV and fight Katee Sackoff...really, they are things to watch while I'm painting 40k.

I'm unable to access this site at home, but here at school I'm more than free to....so either 20six just came back up today and I'll be able to write things at home later...or something is wrong with my connections at home.

Done? Yep. I now tomorrow after swapping the new guy for his Sunday shift....I just hope he shows up tomorrow.

Thursday is a morning shift with Staci, but I get the "Weekend" off...I consider the weekend Friday/Saturday. Less concerned with Sunday.

....I'm trying to get something going as I have just less than hour until my next class and I've gone through both readings. One pro life, one pro choice. Of all the things to start on for a first year Philo class, you lead with abortion! I talked to Omar last night and even he knows not to touch that one with a 10 foot pole...and Omar loves to pick fights in classes...especially regarding religion. He's talking about rallying the guys together again for Supernatural nights.

The close with Staci went alright last night, we got most things done. I felt bad for her since she Clo-penned...but I usually feel bad for her when she works in the mornings. I bought her a Chai Tea latte before I left. She's wearing her purple chucks to work, which yeah, is against the dress code...but no one seems to care... and she is super cool. My god, the new dress code has the Sarge in proper shoes and pants! Of course, I've always worn black loafers to work...so I do no change at all....

My god, I was almost late today but I managed to get the right buses and all was forgiven.

I do enjoy that crim class....imagine me saying that during the last semester. I blame the drugs. Awesome SSRIs.

That reminds me I have to get a new script filled....and another appointment with the good Doctor. I had to cancel my last one due to the fact I was working.

I'm watching some one code in Visual basic and I want to cry.

Maybe i'm a more of a "people person" than I had thought...now I'm no social butterfly, but in an academic setting I can freely relate to the people around me...including Kristy who works at a Starbucks as gets off of work just before class...and Emily, the fashion foward blonde who Shawn commented was "in to me." She smokes...I Didn't see it, but when you leave for 7 minutes during the break and come back smelling like a strong American brand....I just assume.

Saint also managed to get a hold of me this morning....she has Friday off, so we'll try to do something after class and before I go to work...if I do work Friday...I have to...it's me we're talking about. I've been getting Saturday's off lately and that just makes me feel guilty.

...Dammit Brother Mark, we have to finish our armies and get into that Cities of Death tourney! I have at least an entire squad to go plus a couple here and there. It's looking great....I'm not even working on the Sisters at the moment, but a time will come.

So I will have 2 infantry platoons of 3 squads each....30 men. One has the mortar, one has the las cannon...each will have a leman russ attached it for cover. I might leave the 3rd heavy slot open for  demo tank to follow around the armored first in order to capture objectives....but that could be done by the walkers...leaving the slot open for the Basilisk.

I know war...so I hope I can transfer that into Warhammer.....yes, Brother Mark has beaten me in our first battle, but we have to at least get another one out....

Done? Done...I guess so. I hate this keyboard.

I have no idea. Nope. Nothing. I'm just going to start to type and see what happens. I know this never leads to anything, but it's always worth a shot.

...I can't remember what Staci said Saturday night, but the only response I could come up with was "I love you." Trust me, the response wasn't fitting even though I can't remember what she said...

I have to read "Choke" before the movie comes out. Since when I first read "Fight Club" i couldn't help but picture Norton and Pitt as the main characters since I saw the movie before...but I have to be able to form my own image of the characters seperate of the movie. I can't wait to see if(That's a big "if" they adapt "Lullaby" into a movie. That'll be rough, but hey, if they can do Fight Club, they can do anything.

Apparently I close with Staci tonight. I can never remember why I dislike such an act considering most of my closes with her have gone alright. Better than a Mark close anyway, but Mark and I have had some pretty bad ones in the past. At least I get everything done with Staci and apparently I get Tuesday and Wenesday off. Yes, Tuesday is class but it's still a "Day Not Working."

Yes there is Turkey and yes, there is bacon. You can have both in one meal ie, a club sandwich. However, you can get Turkey bacon....which is an odd concept to Bonnie at Starbucks as she's been a vegetarian all her life. I also want to get my hands on some turkey jerky simply because it sounds awesome and really, I'd rather not have any kind of red meat if given the choice.

If I use the word "apparently" one more time shoot me. Please

Oh my god, this is an odd movie week to say the least. Lets leave out the "big ones" like Speed Racer and 88 Minutes which the world can do without. There's one called "The Go-Getters." Really, at this point i don't even care what it is about, but if you have Jenna Malone AND Zoey Decheniel in one film, sign me up. Also, during weekend shifts I'll glance up at the Loop and see something. I don't know what it is. It looks like a walking blue foam version of Marvin the Paranoid Android from the new Hitchhikers Guide Movie(oh Alan Rickman) The fim in called "Ka-Bluey" and yes, I want to see it.

I could do without seeing it. It's hard to be a movie geek these days. Once Iron Man comes up with an awesome packaging job at the end of the month, I should be better. I'm always a sucker for awesome DVD Package jobs, key examples are:

  • Reservoir Dogs 15th Anniversary Edition: Metal Gas Can case with a paper disc holder that looks like a matchbook
  • Hot Fuzz Deluxe 3 disc version: Paper folder that reveal a tri fold paper disc holder that resembles a police notebook
  • Boondock Saint Delux Collectors: Simple folding metal tin. The current Collectors version is exactly the same, but it's cardboard
  • Serenity Deluxe Edition: Tri fold case pulling Mal and River apart either side of the cover

I hope the Iron Man one is metal...perhaps iron. Dammed heavy, but sure to protect the dvd and perfect for bluginging silly customers to death with. Gold-titanium alloy would be 'realisitc', but expensive.

I'm a sucker for a lot of things. Cute girls with any of the many modifiers I apply such as glasses, nice eyes, long coats(other wool accessories etc) seem to be the biggest one. I can still function, but I just have more fun while functioning. Bring on the fall!

Good news. Hugh Laurie is the highest paid British actor recieving 400,000 per House episode. Yes, highest paid British actor, while his (North) American Counterparts such as William Petersen(in his last few ones) gets paid 600,000 per episode and Kiefer Sutherland gets 500,000. Go Hugh! House primeres this week. I'll be home to see it. Awesome.

Hugh Laurie once said he feels a little guilty for getting "paid more to play a fake version of his dad" since his dad was a doctor. Most of Jesse Spencer's family are doctors. I still want Cameron back. I know Dani does too.

Done? Done.

...All this talk against the "Assault on Black Reach" set...come on....75 bucks for all those Warhammer bits?! It could be a grand excuse to start a Crimson Fist army.

No. I can't spend anymore random money...I had to outright buy a new phone since the buttons failed to work on my other one a couple days ago. (sigh) It was 300 dollars I didn't want to spend.

15.9.08 09:24

Well, I've managed to have a wonderful Staci filled Saturday off. You bet. From having "coffee" with her on her break to watching The Bank Job with her and Brother Mark later in the day. She made us dinner, it was nice.

She also introduced me to a new band, who really...I should have found since it was attached to one of the season 5 promos for House.

Rockband 2 is pretty much the same as the first one, just with more songs...including "Pump it Up" by Elvis Costello...I haven't unlocked it yet.

I don't really have much to say. My mission to escort Pyro to his new school worked out well enough. The New Guy called in 'sick' Thursday night which I came in to cover for. Really, who calls in sick from a payphone? I've stopped asking questions like that. Either he'll get better or he'll lose his mind. This happens to all of us.

I work later today, which gets me out of another lunch with the aunts...much to Pyro's relief.

Yes, I hate the radio...and music television...However, catching both Katy Perry AND Hayley Williams of Paramore on the MTV Music awards was stimulating....especially Katy Perry. I hate to give in to the weaknesses of my gender, but it feels so good sometimes.

And that thing with Pink wasn't so bad...

Anything else? Nope.

14.9.08 09:09

Another inventory. This one was strictly voluntary since I wanted to see if I could stay up all night, work then go to class. It turns out I can, but with terrible side effects like being way too random(even for me!) and drinking too much orange juice. Of course it was also the day the prof decides to have the class ask each questions in order to "get to know" each other better. I protested since I hate forming circles in post secondary education, but it was no use. I had to start introducing myself as "hi! I'm *Cleric" and I've been up for 21 hours and counting!"

Shawn served as emotional spotter. On the ride home he claimed the 'funky' fashion forward blonde girl sitting to my left has a thing for me, since she kept glancing in my direction every now and then. Of course she does. Who wouldn't be impressed with my incoherent ramblings about how much I admire Elvis Costello? I swore she said she'd never heard of him...which was odd. Shawn wondered how I remembered her name...well, two things: I'm not stupid when she introduced herself and I remembered! That...and we all have nametags in that class...

It was supposed to be a four person inventory yesterday since we were doing the library. I showed up. Staci showed up. The Sarge showed up...but the new guy didn't. We tried to call him, but apparently the contact number he provided was "disconnected." So we got out of there around 10 which was fantastic...we would have been gone at 8 if we were at full strength. It just proves how good we all are at inventories...well, I'm getting better. Staci and the Sarge maintain their level of awesome.  So either the new guy thought the inventory started at NOON Tuesday or at Midnight Wenesday...instead of Midnight Tuesday...or he's the second "walk out" we've had in four months. No one can cut it movie jockeying anymore. It's sad. Kids these days...though for the record I have no idea how old the new guy is.

I don't even know how I am typing this right now. Whether it was the program I downloaded to make ringtones or something else entirely but we've been hit with some pretty heavy spyware. Pyro is up in arms about it all being my fault, but since we haven't had working security software in months...it was bound to happen. He's talking about getting rig of this 6 year old rig and getting a tech savvy friend of his to whip something up. So I'm preparing to move, first by deauthorizing this computer to pushing purchased music onto Pyro's much bigger ipod.

...Apparently Dani is back at Kwantlen and she informed me she's on campus Monday and Wednesday. She hopefully we will bump into each other. I don't put much into it. I can't afford to do that anymore.

...if I wore a hoodie to last night's inventory I would have matched Staci in style. She decided to wear her new purple chucks as well. I took the risk and wore the new shoes, but I had my standard cross trainers as backup incase my feet exploded. It turns out Converse runners are more comfortable than I had thought. Oh, Brother Mark says he should get a red pair...because Superman wears Red boots.

Staci is always a little edgy during inventories, but she still fun to be around. She even got me coffee this morning. How exciting! no...No...Not really.

I threw the whole look together this morning. Grey sweater with white collared shirt, dark jeans, chucks and a standard length wool coat. It works. Thank god. For a moment there, I was worried. Maybe we'll hold off on the argyle sweater vest for now...

Done? done...Day off today...which might involve a movie.

10.9.08 10:20

I'm oh so close. It has taken me years to build up geek chic, but I took the plunge and purchased a pair of wildly impractical but oddly stylish(and yes, a little cliche) Converse high tops. Black. Hey, at least I didn't get red! Or purple, but Staci did.

I say close because I can do a sweater with a collared shirt, but a sweater VEST with a collared shirt is still years away. I'm not Andrew Welsh, but I strive to be.

I want to be as cool as Elvis Costello...David Tennant(Well, the 10th Doctor since David probably doesn't dress like that on a daily basis)and Hugh Laurie as House...since that's kinda geek chic. It's the blazer with runners. He has worn Chucks one or twice...but medically speaking if your leg is like House, you have to wear runners simply for the support.

People from Britain are cool....though, Tennant is Scottish...so people from the UK are cool...but the 10th Doctor is distinctively British...oh, don't ask me how we brought it up...but Pyro can tell the difference between a New Zealand accent(lots of Rugby) and an "english" accent, but not the difference between an Austrailian and an "english" accent.

Something more practical was a standard length wool zip up coat. I love my longcoat, don't get me wrong. I love it so much I want to be able to wear it for as long as possible which involves NOT wearing it when I don't have to...like taking the bus on a cold day, shoveling the driveway or countless other things a long formal woolcoat will not work.

That's three pairs of shoes and three coat options. My god, Pyro would call me gay for having that many fashion options!

Plain black loafers: I wear these 99% of the time. I find they work well with everything and anything. Formal, casual. Hell, the last two time I've worn a suit I've worn my day to day shoes.

New Balance cross trainers: A wonderful pair of runners I picked up a while ago for a steal. They've served me from being my main athletic and inventory shoe to being the basis of my House costume.

The Chucks are just Chucks. If I want to be cool and I'm not going hiking, they're in. One or two days a week tops...and never at work. I'll leave that to Staci.

Yeah, I own a pair of real dress shoes(I've had them since grade 8 and they make me 6'2) and a pair of "boots" for less than perfect weather.

Longcoat: Awesome Up or Down...but it's too awesome to wear on the bus. That's it. Also, great for whipping around to impress people.

Field jacket: The start of the tactical chic market. Great for everything, but more for the practical applications

Standard length wool coat: Great in all conditions...minus winter formal.

Yep. I also got a metal card case to replace the plastic one I got last christmas. It matches my lighter too.

You'd also be proud, we didn't go to GW today. Staci wisely decided we can wait for all the Space Marine stuff coming out in the fall before we'll get Mark a landraider. Maybe we'll even get him that new pattern...which mounts a whopping huge flamer on either side. It'll put the IG's Hellhound to shame. I hope they put out a new Guard codex...

Usually if work calls and I'm home. I'll go. But when I'm with Staci at Metro I'm no longer the go to guy since it will take me more than 5 minutes to get there. Scott called in sick today and no one was left to close with Brother Mark...Staci said I should be able to say no once...especially leading up to a inventory.

This is such an awesome entry! It's ranty and shallow! Something I never do! Let's ruin it by talking about emotional closeness. I know Staci has issues with personal space, but this also includes her emotional space. Yep. That's as far as I'll go until I get a better handle on emotional space and closeness. At least now I know why she shot down that "other fella" for getting too close emotionally. I've only done it once, but I was so drunk(she was so drunk too) it bounced off and we've disregarded it all to maintain a pretty good friendship.

Now I can't post it on facebook. Awwww.

(sigh)

I'm currently in the process of staying up all night hopped on Full Throttle in order to adjust my sleep pattern for Tuesday. So anything I write here cannot be taken as canon....if you're taking canon in my life...which really...everything is.

Done? Done...I might try to watch "Weird Science" again...and my feet are killing me as i'm breaking in the Chucks.
